On October 28, 2025, the Technology Achievement Appraisal Conference for the High-Speed Sweeper, organized by the China Construction Machinery Industry Association, concluded successfully at Metong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Zhejiang Metong Road Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.). According to authoritative appraisers, the “Key Technologies for Road High-Speed Sweeping and Their Application,” developed independently by Metong, was assessed as achieving an overall “International Advanced” level, with two core technologies reaching “International Leading” status. This demonstrates the strong technological innovation capabilities of Chinese manufacturing enterprises, represented by “Metong Intelligent Manufacturing.”

As a technology pioneer in the high-speed sweeper field, Metong began its technical research in 2017, and after years of focused R&D, the company has obtained multiple national invention patents and overcome numerous industry technical bottlenecks. The high-speed sweeper product appraised this time adopts advanced sweeping technology and intelligent control solutions. It is suitable for full-scene operations on highways, achieving an excellent cleanliness rate of over 95% under high-speed operation. The product features high efficiency, low energy consumption, and superior cleaning results. It effectively solves the industry’s pain points, such as low operational efficiency, high safety risks, and incomplete cleaning, commonly associated with traditional sweeping equipment, providing an efficient “Metong solution” for the mechanization upgrade of road maintenance.

In the field of industry standards, Metong has taken on the responsibility of a leading enterprise. As a core initiator, the company participated in the review of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association’s group standard for high-speed sweepers in May 2024. This laid a solid foundation for the development of technical specifications for high-speed sweeper products and promoted the high-quality development of the industry.

Technical breakthroughs support international expansion. In early 2024, Metong’s LMZ5185TSL vortex-type high-speed sweeper successfully exported to Europe, becoming the first high-speed sweeper from China to be sold in the European market and the first in any non-Chinese market. This marked a zero breakthrough for China high-end high-speed sweeping equipment entering the international market, filling the gap in this field in the international market. This breakthrough not only confirms the high alignment of Metong’s technology with international standards but also marks the official rise of China’s high-speed sweeper technology to the international competitive forefront.
